World of Wine -Burgundy and Loire Valley
Tonight we sample the delights of Burgundy and the Loire Valley. We tour the vineyards of the Cote de Nuits and Cote de Beaune tasting the likes of Volnay, and Meursault. We'll go north to taste a steely Chablis, and south through the Maconnais to enjoy the softer delights of a village Beaujolais. Discover why Burgundian Pinot Noir is one of the most expensive wines today, and how to find the best value for money.
Heading east we encounter The Loire river as it meanders through the likes of Sancerre, Pouilly Fume, Vouvray, Chinon and Coteaux du Layon. This is white wine country, but also produces some extremely good red wine from Chinon, and some Pinot Noir that can rival Burgundy!
